Spring is in the air! And, if your family is anything like mine, your kids are itching to get out of the house. The challenge then becomes finding fun, wholesome activities that don’t cost a fortune. This month, the town of Wilson is featuring three fantastic events, especially for our under 12-year-old friends. Let’s check them out.
Kid’s Crafts & Storytime
The Grange at Wilson Gardens hosts a weekly Kid’s Craft and Storytime every Saturday from 10:30 am to Noon. This free event explores various types of crafts and gardening, including painting, drawing, and planting seeds. Each week, the Grange’s staff prepares a fun-filled event that is sure to please! While you are there, order lunch, shop, and enjoy the beautiful gardens. For more information, visit www.wilsongrange.com.
Mad Hatter Tea Party and Movie
Who doesn’t love Alice and Wonderland? On Saturday, March 26, watch the movie come to life in the Park Street Park. Colorfully decorated tables with fun teapots and teacups will be set in our most popular tulip garden (great for pictures!). The culinary team at the Wilson Cafe is preparing cookies and treats for our guests. This is a ticketed event ($25), and there are limited seats, so don’t delay reserving your spot. Tickets are only needed for each child. Parents can enjoy the festivities from the side. (Note: kids may not be dropped off; a parent or guardian must be present).
After the tea party and performance (2:00 – 4:00 pm), everyone is welcome to attend a special screening of the Alice and Wonderland movie in the Historic Wilson Theater. There is no charge for the film, and everyone is encouraged to participate with their families. For more information, visit www.wilsonarkansas.com/event/madhatter.
Kid’s Paint; Mommies Sip
Sponsored by Arkansas Northeastern College Community Education, this fun event encourages the creative side of our children while parents enjoy their favorite beverage from The Grange at Wilson Gardens. Our little painters will create a door hanger for their home. Tickets are $30, and pre-registration is required. Sunday, March 27; 2:00 – 4:00 pm. For more information, visit www.wilsonarkansas.com/event/kids-paint.
With so many fun activities planned, it’s no wonder that Wilson is Where your children’s memories are made.
